And we
Perpetuate our mind states
to reject the coming changes
to deny our destined paces
To work at jobs with lesser wages
To never confront our fears
to keep that mind state
In constant stunted growth
like coffee
entering your lungs
slowing your breaths
take them slow,
speak slow,
live slow.
So we
hang our heads low
Take the hits and never say anything
And we cry for help but don't accept the hands given
And we
wonder why
the car crashes everyday the same way.
Why we never let the hands take the wheel
when we
stared straight into our short future.
I don't want to feel this way forever, that letter marks "return to sender."
-Thursday, "Understanding in a car crash"
Starts and stops, starts and stops, starts and stops again.
I understand.
We fell from our pedestals. The light dimmed and here we stand.
Thursday:
In this blackout inertia will hold our thoughts and the exit sign offers no light to see by. Can we cast our shadows alone in the dark? I can't see without you. The world is crashing down. Part with it. Start over.
-"A Hole In the World"
Something acoustic. Tonight I'll put this away and keep it in a jar. Collect these nights, so that they never come again.
So this is goodnight.
